It includes not only the inspiring landscape of the Ecuadorian Andes, visiting centennial farms, moors Cotopaxi National Park and the exciting train ride through the famous zig-zag of the Devil's Nose. Visit the peculiar town of Baños and climbing the Andes south to Cuenca, the most beautiful city in Ecuador and Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

This is a fascinating journey through the Avenue of the Volcanoes, surrounded by spectacular nature, through multicolored fields fertile valleys surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You will be amazed Inca ruins of ancient buildings, tall birds observed, llamas and vicuna, and may perceive the mystical spirit of the Andes, in the past, nourished the mythology of the first cultures and then encouraged the Spanish conquerors to settle here .

DAY 1
Quito - Sangolquí - Cotopaxi - Urbina - Chimborazo - Riobamba
The adventure starts in Quito south through the outskirts of the capital. This first stage comes the charming village of Sangolquí, where we make a stop to visit one of the colorful indigenous markets in the area, full of animals , production and people : a great introduction to the Andean way of life . To the east, the journey goes to Cotopaxi National Park , an ecological sanctuary of 36,000 hectares , which houses the magnificent cone of Cotopaxi volcano , which rises 5,897 meters above sea level.

The evergreen landscape of the Ecuadorian highlands is one of the main attractions as well as the program travels along valleys and mountains, patched with multicolored fields . After an hour and a half away , you reach the park entrance and then take a dirt road for about an hour . On arrival at the park, there is a brief introduction to the Andean paramo habitat . Continuing the journey to Lake Limpiopungo to observe a variety of birds, occasionally wild horses and enjoy a short hike . On clear days , the volcano Cotopaxi accompanies guests as a magnificent backdrop.

Lunch is offered at one of the restaurants in the area and then continue along the Panamerican highway, up and down the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes . They continue by bus to the train station and on top Urbina at the foot , the imposing Chimborazo volcano . Visit a Tagua workshop and warm up a fireside canelazo if the Chimborazo is clear, you can expect an impressive sunset. Then continue by bus to Riobamba for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2
Riobamba - Alausí - Devil's Nose - Alausi - Ingapirca - Cuenca
Early having breakfast and then depart by road ( about 2 hours ) , to the small town of Alausí , the heart of the rehabilitation of the Railway Company of Ecuador in recent years. They have made great efforts to restore the 100-year old stations of the railway, replacing the tracks and sleepers , renew engines and classic cars , and involve indigenous communities in the tourism operation along the route. The highlight is the exciting descent of 800 meters ( 2630 feet) by the zigzag rails , rock cut in the Devil's Nose . This is the time to visit the local museum "Condor Puñuna " built and managed by the community Nizag , see the deployment of local handicrafts , fruits and medicinal plants and try the local coffee . The train whistle calls guests back on board for the return Alausí Station . It continues to explore the Andes en route to south through stunning scenery, up to the Inca fortress of Ingapirca , present in the route. Lunch is served in the area. Cuenca is reached in the evening for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3
Cuenca Cultural Heritage of Humanity
Cuenca is Ecuador 's third largest city , and still retains its pleasant provincial air . Its red tile roofs , cobblestone streets, flowery plazas and museums make it very special . This comprehensive tour includes the Plaza de San Sebastian , a colorful market, where handicrafts for sale. Then visit the Museum of Modern Art, with samples of contemporary art collections excellent . Following a visit to the flower market in the small plaza in front of the carved stone entrance of the church of El Carmen de la Asunción . From there, he takes a walk to the main square , surrounded by the imposing blue -domed Cathedral , the Palace of Justice , the Municipal Palace , the Government Palace and the Church of El Sagrario . A walk along the River Tomebamba to admire the old houses in the rock and observe the daily life along the river. Lunch is served in one of the excellent restaurants in the city and in the afternoon , a coach tour for a short visit to the pottery workshop Vega. Then , visit the workshop where Panama hats are made of straw shawl of the highest quality . The tour ends at the airport for the flight back to Quito or Guayaquil follow .
